Story

Hospital Iftars is a community project that was set up in 2018 to break down isolation & bring the muslim community together during Ramadan, who are on hospital premises.

There are many people who find themselves isolated at Iftar time, this includes carers looking after a loved one at the end of life, out patients who ended up at A&E for prolonged hours, partners in maternity wards & staff members.

Hospital Iftars provides hot meals to anyone fasting at Salford Royal Hospital

We are raising funds to help enable the project to continue. We require an average of 60 meals per day.

To support an iftar, it costs on average £8 per meal, which contains dates, water, hot meals & snacks.

Any surplus of funds will help sustain the project for future years.

Zayd ibn Khalid reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever helps break the fast of a fasting person, he will have the same reward as him without decreasing anything from the reward of the fasting person.”
