Story
I've set this page up to raise money for my cousin Matthew who was in a tragic workplace accident in which he lost both of his hands. These injuries are life-changing and I'm hoping the money I raise will aid his recovery and rehabilitation process.
Matthew has worked as a tree surgeon for many years and its a job he loved, he was also passionate about motorbikes and spent a lot of his free time enjoying the sport. Matthew is also a dedicated partner and father, his family mean the world to him.
Despite this horrendous accident and the impact it has and will continue to have on Matthew and his family, he is determined and positive about his recovery which leaves me in complete awe.
As a way of helping Matthew and his family I am aiming to complete the GR20 Corsica north to south self-guided trek in September 2023. This hike is roughly 180km (112m) long, has an elevation gain of roughly 10,000 meters (almost 10 Snowdons!!) and will take roughly two weeks to finish. It is said to be one of the toughest treks in Europe.
If you'd like to help support Matthew and his family please consider donating, no matter how small.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, I will be posting updates on Matt's recovery as well as the hike.
