Story
This is Life and Home for Many of The Children
This is Boccaria, Maputo's (Mozambique) Rubbish dump - the only official dump for Maputo’s 3.5 million people. This is 'Life and Home' for many of the children.
Scarred by 30 years of horrific civil warfare, a war for independence from colonial powers, floods, famines, natural disasters and disease, Mozambique still ranks one of the poorest countries in the world. It is home to some of the harshest living conditions on the planet. Mozambique is a harsh beauty that both captivates the heart and devastates the mind.
Iris ministry's, 'Zimpeto Children's Center' grew out of the desperate needs of the street kids, orphans and other vulnerable children of Maputo.
Over the years it developed into much, much more than this. Zimpeto Children’s Centre serves not only the needs of the resident children but also the poorest of the poor from the surrounding areas. Here, the impossible happens!
Iris Global exists to bring the Kingdom of God to earth in all aspects, but most especially to LOVE the lost, poor, broken and forgotten. This is exactly what Alana and I hope to do. We can't do it without your prayers and financial support.
Everyone deserves to be loved..don't they?
Alana and I will be visiting 14 July-1 August. We really appreciate your support and prayers. We will be funding the trip ourselves but we need to take funds to save and care for these precious lost and forgotten children.
Thank you so much. God bless you.
Sally & Alana
My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action. (1 John 3:18)

6 years agomost didnt have shoes. It was so cold at night. So I could buy sweaters for 50 people, and some shoes, thanks to your support. As well as leaving the rest of the money towards helping them off the street in the future. There is still so much to do to help these precious ones.

Does anyone deserve to live like this? The reality is that thousands do. Thank God for Iris Ministries. They're helping, rescuing and loving on these precious children. Alana, my daughter and I, feel lead to do our bit; not just to think about it... but to do.
