Will’s story on BBC News ( Click on link to play)
Our dear son Will Melbourne died suddenly from an accidental drug overdose on the the 18 th of December 2020. He had Aspergers, ADHD and subsequent depression. He was an incredibly talented and intelligent boy but struggled with extreme social anxiety and found it hard to fit into the world. He felt suicidal and desperate so many times but was always turned away from A&E 9 times because he didn't fit into the right criteria to be admitted into hospital where he would be safe. He was still waiting over 2 years for the appropriate therapy on the NHS even when he died. Although he was in supported accommodation it fell short of the level of care needed to keep him safe. We are going to raise money to try to make a difference for these poor lost souls. The money raised will be used towards creating a safe place for these vulnerable teenagers to go in times of crisis. Ideally, it will be a walk in clinic with trained proffesionals who are equipped to deal with all types of mental health crises.
