Story
Back in 2009 I suffered a horrendous infection that i now know to be Necrotising Fasciitis. After emergemcy treatment by our wonderful guys and Gals at Heartlands Hospital i under went a twelve hour operation to removed (debriblement) the dead necrosised infected tissue.. At first they thought just a snall section of my abomain would need to be removed, however upon waking from surgery i found my entire abdominal wall has been removed from breast to pubic bone, including my umbilici ( no more belly button fluff for me)
i was ribbon bandaged internally and have to say that unless youve experianced this i cannot put into words the excruciating pain this caused when trying to remove/change the dressing. I was then advised about the new VAC Therapy avaliable on the NHS that removes the need for ribbon dressing and is pain free, you dont need to guess my reply ..
after 6 months constantly attached to the VAC machine my wound had closed to the level that i didnt even need skin grafts!! Amazing news
I wish i had the money to repay the NHS for all they did for me however im never going to be in a position to do this (without a euro millions roll over win)
i can however raise money with the help of you guys to buy a VAC machine outright to donate to the hospital.
These machines are costly but i know we can do it
please help
