I've raised £300 to get more Spaniels and Spaniel crosses into loving forever homes by taking part in a night-time trail race!

Across the UK, for all kinds of reasons, hundreds of dogs every week find themselves without a safe, loving forever home. As a fur-mummy to Reuben, a gorgeous, happy Springer who has only ever known love and security, it is heartbreaking to read and see the stories of other dogs who aren’t so lucky. Spaniel Aid UK are an entirely voluntary non-profit who work 365 days a year to get Spaniels and spaniel crosses who need their help in to emergency foster homes and then into loving forever homes. They provide lifetime support for dogs that they rehome and for dogs with ongoing health needs also support veterinary care for life. I‘m a volunteer foster/new home checker and dog transporter for SAUK and see first hand the great work they do in bringing together dogs and their new families. Reuben and I have recently taken up the sport of Canicross and joined a club here in Devon. On the 15th September, we’ll be doing our first proper race - a night time 5-miler on Woodbury Common. Every penny we raise will go to help SAUK give more ‘spanners’ a new life ☺️
