I've raised £1000 to help fund our mental health support group Lift The Cloud in Bury St. Edmunds.

After being personally affected by mental health I decided to do something about it to help others. 90% of those that have shared their story with me have had a negative experience of local services.
Our aim is to raise as much money as possible to allow our group to run regular sessions. Ranging from a simple coffee and a chat to support sufferers and their supporting family/ friends, but to also host events that educate our local community. And provide those in need of support somewhere local to turn.
We have had/ and continue to have backing from our local mayor Terry Clements (term has now ended), who has helped support and get us off the ground.
We have attended meetings/ seminars with those working in the NHS and now come recommended by them for support.
We currently provide a service for depression, anxiety, post natal depression, complex post traumatic stress, borderline personality disorder, dementia, OCD, fibro. And much more.
Our age range is huge, from those studying at college, to those that are retired. It really can affect anybody at any stage in their life.
This group is so needed throughout Bury, I hope you are never unfortunate enough to need it, but unfortunately so many do. Please help show them they have somewhere to turn.
We are now well on our way to becoming a registered suffolk charity.
We have previously...
Biked:
70 miles on a hot sweaty day!
Taken our fundraising to the Arc.
Attended the Rushbrooke Arms Fun Day.
Held our first Family Fun Day.
We have many more pop up events planned...
We rely solely on donation and fund raising, so please even if you can spare a penny, we would be eternally grateful. All funds raised are reinvested in Lift The Cloud. This money will help support and fund our long term project of having somewhere permanent to turn.
Please help us to lower our local suicide rate, every life counts.
Lift The Cloud.
