Story
Hi, my name is Sophie and i'm 15 years old, soon to 16 on new years eve. I have lived with Cerebral Palsy all my life but my parents have always taught me to try everything before i say i cant do it. 1 year ago, i found by chance, The Brighton Buccaneers Wheelchair Rugby Club. I can only say that this was the absolute perfect sport for me. I fell in love with a passion that when i had both Achilles tendons lengthened last November and both my legs below the knees were in casts, I still played. My mum said to my coach "that it's easier to let me play rather than the ear ache i would give her if she kept me home". Anyway, so the wheelchair i have been using for the past year was loaned to the club by GBWR, and unfortunately will be taken back to loan to another club that is just starting up. So after Christmas i will not have a permanent chair for training session. So i will not be in a chair for the full 2 hr training session. So i looking to raise £3600 to have my own wheelchair made, that i can take where ever i need to go to progress. My dream is to be part of the GB team in wheelchair rugby in a future Paralympics . I am already being watched by several current and former GB team members as having potential. Also i will be participating in my first league division 3 game on December 11th 2016. I'm so excited for that.
My parents say i'm very passionate and driven in a way i don't let things get me down and if i come across problems or obstacles i usually find a way around them. So can i please ask everyone to donate whatever you can, to give me a chance to make my country proud and full fill my dream.

SALLYANNE PRICE
8 years agoThank you to all the people that have donated already. We still have a long way to go though. Sophie's rugby wheelchair is due to go back to GBWR on the 18th Dec 2016 which is getting very close now. To get her wheelchair on order we need at least a £500 deposit. We as parents and like many others just don't have that money to hand. So we are trying to look and raise funds where ever we can. If we could ask that everyone that reads this page could donate just £1 each we would hit our target in no time.
