Story
There is a saying that goes, ‘Someone else is praying for the things you take for granted.’
A more apt statement has never been said. We sleep on warm beds with our stomachs satisfied, and expensive clothes on our back, and still get up and complain about life being too harsh, or not getting the latest tech device or the newest pair of pants. Amidst all the complaining, we forget that there are people out there, teenagers our age, small kids, who sleep on the hard floors, with minimal clothing and a glass of water as their food, and they are still very thankful just to be alive.
Isn’t this unfair?
What did we do to deserve such goodness? And what did those innocents do to deserve such harshness? And more than three million people have been displaced, and over half of the refugees are children. They are innocent, poor souls who were maybe a tad bit unlucky to be born at such a time, but they are children nevertheless. Think back to the time when you yourself were a child. How fussy would you get if your toy broke, or if you were hungry, or if your mom went out of sight for two minutes? They are still living without any of the things mentioned above.
They deserve to live. They deserve to be well fed. There is severe lack of basic necessities, no hygiene whatsoever, and no nutritional food to live by. Put yourself in their shoes for a moment and just imagine how it would be like. We cannot cover the loss of their loved ones, or the loss of their home, but we can start by making them comfortable. We can start by helping them to survive, by providing them with basic assets, and by making them strong enough to endure the struggle that is upon them.
You can make a difference. You can bring about a change in the life of a small kid. You can do that by making a donation. Make a donation for the betterment of their lives, and for the sake of humanity. Those kids deserve everything in the world, and we can take the first step in the route of their lives.
