Story

The Saltcoats Christmas Lights became one of the most talked about events in North Ayrshire. You may remember the carnival atmosphere, the street theatre, the parade, with a grand finale where Santa surprisingly arrives by abseiling down the Saltcoats Town Hall clock tower to switch on the festive lights. The community engagement had such a buzz we’re hoping to be able to make this years event bigger and better.

This is where we need your help!

People from the 3 Towns community and our neighbours come to see the lights and experience the magical moment when they are switched on and to enjoy the Christmas Carnival.

Currently this is done by a small group of 7 volunteers. We seek additional support – are you a trader in the town who appreciates the festive lights display?

Do you know anyone who would like to be involved? Time is precious for all if you can’t spare some time can you spare a donation? Would you like to arrange an instore activity to raise some funds so you can contribute? This event is provided for the children and the community and it extends your thanks for their support when shopping locally. We’re looking to local businesses to assist in the funding of the annual display of the festive street lights and for this great Christmas Carnival.

The lights will be illuminated for 4 weeks on the lead up to Christmas and 2 weeks beyond which is good for the town by giving us a welcoming festive feel and will bring trade to all our local businesses.

This can only happen with business and community support.

Saltcoats - It’s our town, it’s our community
