Story
The Saltisford Canal Arm is a peaceful green space in the heart of Warwick, just below the famous Hatton lock flight on the Grand Union Canal. The site is managed by the Saltisford Canal Trust, a registered charity that works to restore, preserve and promote this historic waterway, its heritage and its use by narrowboats, visitors and the local community.
A short section of the canal edge has begun to fail, allowing ground behind the steel piling to wash away. This has caused the adjacent path to settle, creating a hazard. These works are safety critical. The Trust will install a new line of steel sheet piling, together with waling and tie backs, to secure the canal bank and protect the path and moorings.
Your support helps the Trust recover the cost of essential safety works and rebuild funds for future maintenance.
