Story
My youngest Son Caleb joined Saltney Town FC last year and I am inspired by the passion and commitment of the men and women who voluntarily run the local club for the selfless benefit of the community, young and old.
The hands-on approach from volunteers to day-to-day maintenance, fund raising and keeping the club engaging & inclusive to all of the Saltney and local neighbours deserves a huge recognition.
At least 5 of the younger players in the club have recently been offered academy development programmes with premier league clubs, which is testament to the development opportunities provided by the club.
The club manager Marc Edwards informed parents this weekend that the ride on mower which was previously self funded and fixed tirelessly over the years has had to go to mower heaven due to being irreparable. The club maintains and develops the land behind Saltney community centre free of charge, simply so people like you, I and our children can enjoy the benefit of participating in sport, a club and community.
The retail price of a new ride on mower for the club is £5000. A second hand mower could be bought, but there is no guarantee that it may need repairs again in the near future.
The grass on the 7 acre field is cut usually once a week during the season. There is no mower or replacement available at the moment, time is against the club that the grass roots football won't come to a stop.
Please help a longstanding community football club keep the grass roots cut and the footballs rolling.

My 6 & 10 year old sons have been playing football since the day they could first stand up. The community and social benefits of grass roots football are invaluable but rely heavily on voluntary time and the good will of local community and businesses.
