I've raised £1000 to Help Martin Moran maintain his independence for as long as possible.

Martin was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in september last year. Up until then Martin led an active sporty life playing football, rugby, boxing/kick boxing and running. Martin has many friends and enjoyed all these activities with them. Martin also for many years worked for Bradford Council as a bereavement service officer where he had many friends and colleagues and was well liked and respected. Martin is a lovely caring, kind and strong person with an amazing personality and is much loved by all of his friends and family.
Since Martins diagnosis his day to day life has changed dramatically. From all the things we take for granted like getting out of bed, getting showered, dressed and moving around the home on his own has become virtually impossible without the assistance of his wife. Helen has recently given up working full time to care for Martin and assist with his daily needs. Since the illness martin's social life has slowly diminished. He can no longer attend his beloved Bradford City home games of which he was a season ticket holder and enjoyed the company of his football mates. The life style change that the illness has caused has led to Martin feeling quite isolated at times.
On Saturday the 11th August 2018 at 15.00pm we are holding a fund raising event for Martin at the Manor House Pub on Leeds Rd, Eccleshill, Bradford. There will be a DJ and food on the day and for those of you who know Martin well, he will not be stripping. We are hoping to raise funds to pay for the rental and upkeep of a stair lift and any other new adapataions that are required as the illness progresses. If it is possible we would love to see as many of Martins friends, old and new at the event. So we are ale to cater for numbers could you please let us know if you are able to attend.
If you would like to kindly donate to help Martin you can do this through the Just Giving Page or on the day of the event.
We would like to thank everyone for taking the time to read about Martin and for their love and support through difficult times.
