Story

EDIT:
Sadly, Shining Stars has made the decision to close their charity.

Due to their closure I have found a new chairty to donate to over April- Little Miracles. They do amazing work locally & support families whose children have additional needs, disabilities or life limiting conditions.

On Monday 13th March they had a break in & now need all the extra help we can give. Please give if you can, thank you

Hello!
World Autism Awareness Day this year is Sunday 2nd April.

I want to challenge myself that whole month to try to make some money for a very worthy charity.

My aim is to cycle 100 miles outdoors over April. I bought a bike last year and it's been sitting in the shed over winter so this is definitely not going to be an easy task for me!

As many people will know, both of my children are autistic. This brings our family a fair amount of challenges every day and without the help of my mum and dad, the kids specialist practioner, the teams at their schools, our peadatrician, health visitors, speech therapists, charities and hopefully soon occupational therapists, dieticians and sleep clinics, we would be completely lost.

The charity I have chosen to raise money for is Shining Stars. It is a local charity to us which holds stay and play sessions for any type of SEN child.

As a family, we went to one session and then applied to be part of the swimming sessions that would run on Saturdays instead. This meant all 4 of us were able to go swimming every Saturday from November to March to a local pool for an hours sen session where the numbers were greatly reduced... for free. The kids have massively benefited from this!!!

These kind of charities are so wonderful for local communities to bring families to a place where their children can be completely themselves.

Please see the link below for more information about this wonderful charity. If you have anything spare to go towards this then we would be so grateful.

Thank you!
