Story

Our son Alex was diagnosed with SMA Type 2 in 2017, this means Alex needs to use a wheel chair for his independence. he currently has a manual wheel chair, and an indoor electric wheelchair.

He is such a friendly confident little boy and has always coped well with his situation. recently though Alex has started to notice his limitations. this has caused him to start getting very upset about the fact the cant keep up with his friends in the play ground, because he isn't as fast he feels like he's missing out and being left behind. We think we are going to have to do this sooner than expected to get him back to his happy place.

We had a two year plan to start fundraising for an All-Terrain wheel chair. The chair we are hoping to fundraise for is very expensive, its £10,000+ depending on the spec. The chair would give Alex the freedom of his classmates, there would be less limitations for him. It’s an all-terrain chair so sand, mud, gravel, and hills would all now be accessible to Alex, and he would be able to do it all independently. It would be a game changer for him.

Now life is getting back to some sort of normality it’s going to be easier for us to organise some events and challenges that we can do. We have come up with a few Challenges/Ideas for fund raisers, which we will be posting about soon.

Any help you guys can offer really is appreciated.

Thanks

Mum and Dad
