Story
On Sunday 23rd June, I'll be taking on a monumental challenge: running the Leeds 10K. Now, for those who know me well, you might be wondering if I've lost my mind. And truthfully, I might have, but it's all for a cause very close to my heart.
I am not a runner. In fact, I've always shied away from anything resembling cardiovascular exertion. But when I saw the opportunity to push my limits and support a cause I deeply believe in, I knew I had to step up.
For the past few months, my life has been a whirlwind of discipline and training. From those first painful steps around the block to the gruelling early mornings pounding the pavement, every mile has been a testament to my commitment to this cause.
So why am I putting myself through this? Because the cause is worth it. I'm running to raise funds for St Anne's Alcohol Services. Alcohol addiction is a silent killer that claims the lives of over 10,000 people in the UK every year. It tears families apart and destroys livelihoods.
St Anne's Alcohol Services provides vital support and resources to those battling addiction, offering hope and healing to individuals and families in their darkest moments. Every penny raised will go directly to supporting their life-saving work, from medically assisted detoxes and rehabilitation programs.
As I lace up my running shoes and prepare to tackle those 10 kilometres, I carry with me the stories of those who have been impacted by alcohol dependency. With every step, I hope to raise awareness, spark conversations, and make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.
But I can't do it alone. I need your support. Your donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference. It will provide hope to those struggling with addiction and help pave the way to a brighter, healthier future.
Together, let's turn every mile into a message of hope.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. With your support, we can make a difference.
