Story

Coventry has one of the largest refugee populations in the UK.

Every two months 20 vulnerable families arrive in Coventry straight out refugee camps in the Middle East. Warwick STAR hold thrice weekly Conversation Clubs with them, helping them with their English skills and we want to help take 50 of these refugees to Kenilworth Fireworks Night.

We want to show them a suitably obscure and weird part of British history and culture, and more importantly to help them become part of their new community.

Every pound makes a real difference. These refugees have experienced unimaginable journeys and experiences, and we think that the least we can do is welcome them is by showing them one of Britain's quirkiest events.
