This page has unfortunately been closed, we will continue to update it but we have created a new page where all funds will be added together at the end of the ride. Please follow the link above to donate. (https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/sam-polledri-defibrillator-foundation-bike-ride)
Sam tragically passed away of a cardiac arrest in February 2022, aged only 24.
Sam absolutely loved life. He was kind, loving, strong, always singing or dancing and so much more. He deserved to experience years and years of more life, to achieve all he had planned to do. He was a great partner to my daughter, who treated her with an enormous amount of love and respect. Sam will eternally be missed by so many family and friends, especially by his parents, brothers, grandmother and girlfriend.
In honour and memory of Sam during September 2022 me and my good friend Giulio will be cycling 1,000 miles from Land's End, Penzance to John O' Groats, Scotland. We will complete this in 10 days.
All money raised will be donated to the ‘Sam Polledri Foundation’ An organisation that aims to have lifesaving defibrillators installed in as many public places, to raise awareness on how and when to use the equipment.
‘In the UK, due to cardiac arrest 12 fit and healthy young people aged between 14-35 die every week…' That statistic should not be so high and it is growing. ‘If a defibrillator is used within 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest survival rates jump from 6% to 74%’ There was no wall mounted/registered defibrillators near Sam, he wasn’t given the chance to survive.
Please be part of the change to help prevent these tragedies from happening. Let's get these defibrillators out there and known.
We will ensure you live on through saving other people's lives in your name. Hope we do you proud Sam.
