Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'll be Climbing Ben Lomond to raise money for Community Veterans Support because they’ve made a real difference in my dad’s life and in the lives of many other veterans. Their support has helped him and others access vital services, find connection with fellow veterans, and regain a sense of purpose and community after their military service. This organization goes above and beyond to ensure our veterans are not forgotten, and I want to give back by helping them continue their incredible work. Every donation brings us one step closer to supporting more heroes who’ve already given so much for us.

Community Veterans Support has been a beacon of hope for armed forces veterans for over 12 years, dedicated to meeting them at their point of need. Initially created to help veterans transition from military to civilian life, it has evolved into a comprehensive drop-in and support centre that operates five days a week. Our daily ambition is to meet the needs of any veterans who walks through our doors.

Key Services Offered:

-Free Hot Lunch: Veterans can enjoy a warm, nutritious meal from Monday to Friday, fostering a sense of community and mitigating food poverty as for some of our veterans this will be the only hot meal they get in a day.

- Emergency Accommodation: Support is available for those facing homelessness, ensuring that veterans have a safe place to stay.

- Emergency Food Parcels: For those in immediate need, food parcels are provided to help sustain them. During the pandemic lockdowns we processed over 200 emergency food parcels every week to isolated veterans.

- Safe Space: The Centre serves as a welcoming environment where veterans can connect and share experiences, reminiscent of the camaraderie they had in the service.
