Don't have time to donate right now?
Story
I'm currently looking for a new, more advanced powered wheelchair than the one I'm currently using. As I'm now in my twenties I need something that's more reliable and that can offer me greater comfort and support as my physical condition, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, progresses. As I rely on a wheelchair all the time, not just for my health but for my independence as well, it's important to have the most suitable one for my needs. The chairs I am trying out also can incorporate Bluetooth meaning I would be able to use the wheelchair to control my devices. Something that will be massively useful when I'm eventually unable to control things like phones / tablets with my hands. It goes without saying that these types of wheelchairs aren't cheap though. The one I'm planning on getting could be between £10,000 and £20,000. So any donations people would be willing to give would be much appreciated and go a long way to help fund the wheelchair. Anyone who makes a donation to this campaign that is £50 or above will receive a complementary drawing of themselves, courtesy of my brother Jack who is a fine art graduate.

5 years agoAfter many months of fundraising, including getting many kind donations from this crowdfunding page, for my new wheelchair it finally arrived from Sweden earlier this month. Already I’ve noticed how much more comfortable and compact it is compared to my previous chair. Waiting to get the most suitable chair for my needs, even if it was more expensive than others, was well worth it. I couldn’t have done it without all the support though so a massive thanks to everyone.

5 years agoThe wheelchair I'll be getting has now been ordered and should be arriving by the end of this month. It took a while to get the required funding in place, but without the kind donations of everyone on this page and charities it would've been much harder to get the money together. Many thanks to all the people who contributed on this crowdfunding page and because of it. I will be posting pictures of the wheelchair on this page when it has been delivered so you can see what your money has gone towards.
