In 2026, I’ve been selected to take part in a overseas volunteering expedition to Peru with London Wing RAF Air Cadets. The project, Exercise Tawantinsuyu, is more than just an expedition; it’s a chance to make a difference in communities that need it most.

What will we be doing?

Over the course of two weeks, I’ll be part of a team volunteering directly in remote villages in Cusco, helping with:

• Construction projects: Improving the access to education by repairing schools and essential facilities.

• Sustainable development: supporting community-led initiatives that improve long term educational conditions.

• Cultural exchange: learning from local people, respecting their traditions, and giving back in a meaningful way.

Why does this matter?

Through this expedition, I’ll not only be giving my time and energy to those who need it; I’ll also be learning resilience, leadership, teamwork, and compassion. This is a chance to step far outside my comfort zone and put the values of the RAFAC into real action.

The Goal: £3,500

This will cover everything needed to take part in the expedition including flights, kit, accommodation, insurance, training, and a significant contribution towards the community projects themselves.
