I've raised £500 to to help an inspirational lady raise money for a cause close to her heart

On 9th June I am taking on the Race to the Tower - a 53 mile ultra marathon across the Cotswold Way - all in one go! I have tried these over two days in the past but this is the biggie - 53 miles in a day will be a real challenge of my determined mind vs my unwilling body! Running an ultra is for me a reflection of how far I have come in the last few years - putting one foot in front of the other, however hard the next step may seem, and trusting that good things will follow has served me well so far and although there is still a long way to go I only have to think about the next step!
I have decided to raise money in support of a superb lady who has unwittingly taught me a great deal. Carin is one of the most genuine, kind and determined people I know, she has taught me how to temper determination with humour, how to lead and yet support and how to look for the good within others rather than being concerned with what is on the outside. I feel really privileged to be able to raise funds to help someone I know personally in a cause that is close to their heart - she is raising money for a dear friend of hers to complete his final year at university in the UK and I would like the money I raise to support her cause. As most of you know I spend a lot of time at work helping amazing schools and charities and I am pleased and privileged to do this. But this time I have chosen to focus my fundraising on helping an individual who has touched my life in a really positive way and I hope you support me both in my efforts to crawl round 53 miles and to help a friend.
