Supporting The Tyler Abdul Foundation (TYFO)

Last November, my beautiful friend Charlene experienced every parent’s worst nightmare. Her gorgeous son, Tyler, a bright, funny, talented young man with so much life ahead of him, tragically took his own life. Nothing prepares a family or a community for a loss like this. The shock, the heartbreak, and the “why didn’t we know?” never truly fade.

But in the middle of unimaginable grief, Charlene chose to turn her pain into purpose.

She created The Tyler Abdul Foundation (TYFO) a charity dedicated to the prevention of teenage suicide and to supporting young people who feel overwhelmed, lost, or unheard. TYFO exists so no other family has to experience the same devastation, and so every teenager has somewhere to turn long before crisis hits.

Charlene is the heart and soul of the foundation. Since the day TYFO was born, she has worked tirelessly behind the scenes building support networks, organising community outreach, creating safe spaces, and partnering with schools and mental-health professionals. She does it all while carrying her own grief, with one goal:

To save young lives in Tyler’s memory.

But TYFO needs help.

We want to grow our reach, extend our programmes, and fund vital mental-health resources for teenagers who desperately need them. Every donation, no matter the size, helps TYFO support more young people, educate more parents, and make early intervention possible.
