Story

With Christmas fast approaching, most children will be compiling their christmas lists ready to send to Santa and trying their best to stay on the nice list. The children who will spend their time in Birmingham Childrens Hospital this Christmas will probably just want to get better and go home, so every year the hospital run a ward decorations project to help spread some festive cheer to the children and families that they support. I, Grace and Dennezcia are using our volunteering day given by Lloyds this year to help decorate the Neurophysiology Ward. However we need some help to raise the funds for the cost of the decorations, all we ask is to help if you can? A small donation will be a massive help.

Here is some information on what type of care that ward provides for its patients:

Neurophysiology studies how the brain and peripheral nerves function in order to diagnose and monitor neurological disorders.

Our department investigates the cases of more than 2,000 patients every year and helps with the diagnosis of neurological and non-neurological conditions to help clinicians and surgeons deliver the best quality of care possible. We will help children with many conditions ranging from epilepsy to disorders of nerves and muscles, as well as measuring if the brain has been affected by infections, disorders of liver or kidney and monitor the effect of any medication on brain function.
