Karina is a 36 year old, fit and healthy nurse who has cared for people her entire working life. She has an adoring husband and is a wonderful mother to two gorgeous young sons aged 7 and 5. They have been told the unimaginable…………..

After fighting breast cancer once, it’s back and, its incurable…….

They are broken………

The news is crushing them, they need more time together enjoying their beautiful family………….

For those of you that don’t know Karina’s journey, I’ll fill you in.

Karina was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in July 2015. Her treatment included FEC-T chemotherapy which lasted till the December 2015, surgery which included a lumpectomy, lymph node clearance and finally radiotherapy. Karina had been in remission for just under 3 years before receiving this devastating news

As you can imagine their lives have been turned upside down with the heart breaking news that she has secondary cancer to the pleura. This has caused a pleural effusion which continues to produce fluid causing the need for a pleurx drain.

This has to be drained daily and is causing her constant pain, despite her amazing ability to remain strong throughout this time, this sudden change in health is affecting every aspect of her daily living including family life.

NHS treatment currently includes two hormonal drugs which are used to block the cancer cells from progressing.

However there are other treatments available which could help provide Karina with better health for longer, it’s called immunotherapy. This is expensive and may only be available privately ……… but, you cannot put a price on a person’s time and quality of life.

Karina is the most incredible person I know……… she has touched the lives of so many people with her loving, caring, witty personality and ability to always bring out the best in people, she is the most incredible friend to so many lucky people.......

Everyone is so desperate to help and do their bit, this is our chance……….. by fundraising , donating and sharing this post we will be contributing to the most precious thing in life …….. Time ….and…. Memory Making for her and her beautiful family.…….
