💛 Our Story 💛

Meet Chester — our gentle, floppy-eared pony who is loved across our community. Dressed in his beautiful hand-knitted poppy rug, he has proudly led Remembrance parades, attended armed forces weekends, visited care homes, and helped raise thousands of pounds for Keech . He is our ambassador, our comfort, and our greatest pride.

But right now, our brave boy is fighting the hardest battle of his life, and he needs your support — we are all so, so worried. 🥺

What began as a simple sore eye has turned into something far more serious. The vets have explained that Chester’s own immune system has become confused and is mistakenly attacking his eye. Instead of protecting it, his body is damaging the clear surface — creating a painful white cloud that won’t heal, no matter what we try.

The vets are running tests to rule out three possible causes:

• Lymphoma — a growth made of immune cells that can form on the eye

• Leptospirosis — a bacterial infection that can quietly damage the eye months or years later

• Or simply an immune reaction gone wrong — where his body attacks his eye for no clear reason

We are waiting anxiously for answers — and living with the terrible fear that he could lose his eye entirely. 💔

He has already undergone procedures to gently remove the damaged tissue, been given endless medication, and visited the vet more times than I can count. Next week, he travels to Rossdales Equine Hospital to see a top eye specialist — the very best care we can find — because we will NEVER give up on him.

But every step of this journey comes at a heavy cost. We are already well into thousands of pounds — and specialist consultations, advanced tests, surgery, and ongoing treatment are only just beginning.

Chester means EVERYTHING to me. He has stood by my side through grief, through hard days, through everything. He is more than a pony — he is family. And the thought of him losing his sight, or suffering any pain, breaks my heart.
