Samir Zitouni is the LNER worker who put himself in front of the attacker and his passengers, no doubt saving countless lives. His bravery and selflessness stood out that day. Samir was seriously injured during the attack and is in critical but stable condition in hospital.

I think it is only right after his selfless act that we raise a bit of money so he and his family aren’t worried about short term expenses, let’s be honest, we owe him a pint.

I will liaise with either his union or employer to ensure these funds go directly to Samir and his family.

I myself am part of the railway industry, I am an Operations Manager for Network Rail, for the portion of line where this incident happened.
