Story
In July of 2016 we recieved some upsetting news from a close friend Sammi - Her husband Steve had been involved in a terrible mountain bike acciden and had sustained a serious spinal injury. As the days progressed the results came that the injury would be a life changer, meaning there is only a small chance of being able to use his legs again. HEARTBRAKING! Fast forward 2 years and unfortunately Steve has be left paralysed from the waist down and will never walk again. He has been so brave over the past 2 years learning to adapt with his wheel chair and even being able to still drive and do day to day essentials without the use of his legs. He’s a incredible friend, son and more importantly husband to his amazingly supportive, caring and most of all: inspirational wife Sammi. My good friend and work collegue Sammi has been a pillar of strength to her husband and has remained so bubbly, positive, outgoing, selfless and of course an amazing baker! The reason that I am running the half marathon and want to raise as much money as possible is because unfortunately Sammi and Steve’s beautiful cottage and quater acre of land has become unsuitable for Steve to live in long term but moving isn’t an option - home improvements and high tech equipment are the only way! Recently planning permission has been approved for a double story extension which would give them both more room and Steve the access that they desperately need. Unfortunately building work has been put on hold as the funds are not available to get the project off the ground - which is where FUNDRAISING comes in! I will be doing a sponsored half marathon on behalf of both Sammi and Steve to help the ‘get go’ of their big life changing project! So please if you could spare any cash to help two lovely and inspirational people live a more accessible life that we all take for granted everyday. This will allow them to move forward with their lives and continue to stay in a home that they both love. So i’ll get my running shoes on and you guys get dontationg! EVERY LITTLE HELPS :D:)
