Story
Each year, I try to raise funds through "Go Sober for October." This year, instead of raising funds for cancer MacMillan I thought I would borrow the idea and raise money for a cancer cause a little closer to home.
Fiona, my dear family friend from SA has been battling cancer for the last year and a half. She was self-employed and has had to stop working whilst she undergoes treatment. She is not the only one in this position and has started a foundation to help her and others like her to get by when undergoing treatment.
The organisation aims to organise events for family and friends of, and for cancer patients to take part in. Any funds raised from these events are used to help pay for and support and subsidise the livelihood of those undergoing treatment. They've done some wonderful little things in-between, like securing knitted beanies for the cancer patients to keep their heads warm during winter.
If you'd like to support me in stopping the booze, please join me in donating to this worthy cause.
PS: I am allowed a drink if someone buys me a golden ticket! This ticket costs £35 and allows me a night off for a drink. In order to stop me from cheating I won't be buying these for myself, but if you'd like to support a night out then please mention the golden ticket in your comments.
