I'm raising £504 for a community group in Leicester. It's StarBase Leicester and has survived nearly 20 years bringing people together from the geek, gamer and reader communities. Defeating isolation and forging friendships! The group is donation based but everyone is struggling, so any help would be great no matter how small.

Since lock down funds have dwindled so I'm taking on the toughest challenge I can think of... a sponsored silence! 24 hours and not a word, and if you know me you'll either laugh or be shocked. I can't walk 15 minutes to town without talking to someone be it strangers in need, or strangers who happen to have a cool t-shirt, or friends and family, colleagues and customers. I tested myself and walking two streets in town I nearly exploded! 13 things I had to say when time was up (10 minutes) just random thoughts and things I'd noticed.

The challenge: 24 hours of zero verbal communication, no sign language or writing or texting and I have to take a selfie at each of my work places and the clock tower! I can carry just one sign that explains "sponsored silence".
