Story

Hello and thankyou for visiting our just giving page!

Our goal is to raise £6,000 by October 2018 for our chosen charity “Mind”. We will be doing this by taking on the challenge of climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in October over the course of a seven day trek. Mt. Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest peak standing at 5895m above sea level. The money you donate provides help and support directly to those who need it most. Mind has a large network of around 135 local Minds that offer specialised support and care based on the needs of the communities they support.

They provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

Sam and I are looking to raise in the sum of £6,000 that will go towards the great work that Mind carry out. This involves crisis care when people need help urgently and also to help people 'find the words'.

We like many other charities and foundations already do want to get rid of the stigma that surrounds mental health and make a difference. We are sure most people have had first-hand experience of what it is to suffer from mental health or to support others through it; our main aim is to break down the barrier and to get people suffering to “SPEAK”; staying silent doesn’t help anyone.

Here is a short video from Mind.
