On 7th February 2017 I will be travelling to an extremely poor and rural part of Cambodia, near Battambang, in order to promote road safety in very simple, basic schools. I will be working with the friend of an ex-colleague who has helped set up a small charity 'Children’s Action for Development' (see link below) working to change little lives in this remote part of the world. By visiting five schools and spending 3 days in each, I’ll be able to reach 200 young children.

I’m self-funding the trip, which includes my air fare, accommodation, internal transportation, an interpreter to help me deliver in class – and providing a simple lunch for each kid on the course (as they normally don’t get one).

It’s costing a tad over £2k and I want to AT LEAST match that in fundraising. My aim is to leave every child I meet with a cycle helmet. With your help I can do that.

Just £5 will get us halfway to one helmet. Helmets are cheap at only $12 each but with an average daily wage of $4.67 (£3.59) a bike helmet becomes an impossible ‘luxury’.

Accident rates are truly horrific…and the kids in this area just don’t have cycle helmets so death and devastating injuries are common place. We all know, wearing a helmet correctly can result in 40% reduction to risk of death and 70% reduction to risk of severe injury. Please help me protect these vulnerable children by giving whatever you can.
