Story
As we all are very aware there is an appalling situation in Ukraine that is growing by the day since the barbaric and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine by the Russian military forces.
The number of refugees has hit the world's largest exodus of people in the shortest amount of time in history.
However there are also people for whom escape has been impossible.
These are mainly the elderly and disabled Ukrainians. Many have been displaced from their homes to a place of relative safety but some, those physically unable to move, are still having to live under constant threat of death from the daily bombing attacks.
I have already been on 1 trip to the Ukraine to deliver aid and supplies. This was supported through crowd funding.
I am now asking for support for an urgent second trip. This time I will deliver medical aid via Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) in the Ukraine - catheter equipment, stoma supplies and incontinence support to these trapped and displaced people. The regular supply lines of these essential supplies have been so severly damaged that they can no longer meet the demands of their patients. I will be crossing the border to enter Ukraine to get these supplies to exactly where they are needed.
Another group that is very vulnerable is the gay community. I aim to support the delivery bus with a month of food to support the 12 gay students hiding and studying near the Polish border.
If I can raise enough money I also want to support the shelter who looked after myself and my daughter during the bombings on our last trip. They were so kind to us and kept us safe !!
We are also open to donations of DRIED foods like smash, soup mixes, coffee, dried milk and cereals to distribute but they need to be dropped off at Sherwood House, Burnley Road, Todmorden by no later than Saturday 2nd of July. Call 07868618781 for directions.
I will be visiting the children's hospital too so colouring books/pencils/pens would be nice and some chocolate and sweets too π
