NCC have decided to close Alderman Swindell Primary School. We feel they have rushed the process and not listened to any concerns we have. Responses to our questions have not been forthcoming and considered. We feel they haven't followed the correct procedure in regards to the consultation.

We believe the council want to close the school to take over the land and build housing. We love this little school and don't want it to close. We believe it is needed in our town which has a growing population. We will have our choice of schools taken away from us and our children will be forced into another school which will house the kids in mobiles on site. As yet the building plans haven't been disclosed and are subject to planning process.

It is assumed the building work will take a few years before it is suitable for educating our children. We feel that this building work will distract our children and affect their education. Our children will be expected to be educated in the current facility at the other school which has remedial building issues.

Alderman Swindell in spite of ofsted findings performs above the national average. The other schools data released on their website indicates a marginal improvement since their last ofsted in 2014 but not significant enough. All the teachers from Alderman Swindell will lose thier jobs which they have worked hard for which is very upsetting.

We just want to be heard and treated fairly. Education in Great Yarmouth is important to us and we feel our children get a great education at Alderman Swindell Primary School.

We have obtained legal advice and we have a case against NCC. Please help us be heard and protect our school and keep the teachers jobs. Even just £2 helps. If we do not reach our target all the money will be refunded back to the donators. If we go over target and raise more than what we asked for we will give the money to the school to buy something new for the children like a climbing frame.
