Story

l,,The British Transplant Games (BTG) brings together adults and children who have all received life saving organ transplants. The event celebrates the gift of life through showcasing the sporting activity of these amazing transplant athletes.

I have been involved in supporting the transplant games for many years as Team Manager for the Birmingham Courageous Heroes who represent the Birmingham Children's Hospital. To make BTG in Coventry this year even more fun and memorable for all the children attending I am raising funds to support the delivery of wrap around events for transplant children and their brothers and sisters to enjoy in between the sporting events. Activities such as art and crafts, balloon modelers, magicians and face painters - all these activities give children the chance to spend time with their transplant friends having the best time and making memories.

To make this fundraising a real challenge, I am aiming to swim the distance between Birmingham and Coventry - a massive 24miles or 38624metres, which equals 1545 lengths of the local swimming pool. Any one who knows me will know I am not a competitive swimmer, so this is a huge challenge for me. I am aiming to compete this mammoth swim over 2 months - completing the last swim by end of June.

The month of May saw me complete 622 lengths or 15,550metres, just under halfway- so much more to do...... any donations will be gratefully received and not only spur me on to swim harder and put a smile on my face, but also on the faces of the children at BTG 2023.

Thank you all
