Story

Biggleswade Rugby Club is having a Father Christmas Frenzy this weekend - for three worthy causes.

On Saturday night, it’s the club’s Annual Charity Santa Night, where players and friends will be dressing up as Santa and heading to Biggleswade and Sandy to collect money for this year’s nominated charities: Crohn’s & Colitis UK, Sue Ryder, and the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association UK. All three are charities close to the club’s heart: members and their families have been directly affected by the various conditions and want to give something back to the organisations they’ve depended on in times of need. One third of all monies raised will be sent to each of the three charities.

Collections will also be taken throughout the weekend (the Men’s 1st & 2nd XV teams are playing home league matches on Saturday afternoon, minis and youth sides play on Sunday morning, and the Ladies also have a home game - a local derby cup match v Hitchin - on Sunday afternoon).

The club’s Santa Night has been running for approximately 14 years and has raised in the region of £25,000 for a number of different local and national charities.
