    Story

As you all know, I am always up for an adventure and my next one usually comes from a conversation over a pint of cider (or 5). After reading an article on the Wales Coastal Path, I decided that I wanted to walk all of it. Why not? It's only 870 miles, and if I am going that far then I might aswell tag Offa's Dyke onto the end .... So what started as a quick couple of days walk along the Gower has now turned into walking the entire coastline of Wales and then the border back up.

Originally I wanted to do the whole coastline in one go but as my time is restricted by school summer holidays (I am not complaining), I intend to walk for a month over the summer and then continue the rest over weekends and school holidays when I return to live in Wales at the end of the summer. So it's a welcome home to Wales walk of sorts.

The next suggestion was why not raise money as you go along. So here is where this page comes in. A couple of years ago at a routine pacemaker check at Morriston Hospital, they found that my dad was really poorly with an infection in his heart. Reading the statistics of survival from this infection, I quickly closed the browser and ignored the figures as it was not promising reading. The staff in the Cardiac Department at Morriston were absolutely fantastic and did everything that they could to help including coming in on their days off to try and get to the bottom of it. I saw first hand the amount of care and dedication that went into looking after all of the patients, and hats off to them for putting up with my dads 'sense of humour' for almost 2 months (they need a medal for that in itself!).

Morriston Hospital League of Friends is a voluntarily run registered charity, which provides support to Morriston Hospital. The charity was originally formed in 1943. Today, the League of Friends work closely with the ABM (Abertawe Bro Morgannwg) Health Board and provide a channel through which the community can make financial donations to the Hospital.

Morriston Hospital League of Friends is a registered charity – No. 23168. More information can be found on the following link. https://mhlof.wordpress.com/

Thank you for your support. Keep an eye out on social media to follow my adventures along the way. https://hungrywelshadventurerblog.wordpress.com/

And yes, I am making my dad walk some of the walk with me . . . he still thinks I am joking.
