I've raised £250 to I am running the Cardiff half marathon in October as part of a team #Teamdrew. We are fundraising for the Paediatric Chordaoma charity.

I am fundraising for Paediatric chordoma in memory of Drew Barker-Wright who at the very young age of 4yrs sadly passed away in February 2017. In December 2016 he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer only found in the base of the skull and spin. Drew was admitted to Birmingham children's hospital and underwent intensive chemotherapy and surgery. It was a fraught journey with many complications along the way. This was primarily dew to the rareness and lack of documented cases. His battle was brief and brutal but he fought bravely for one so young.
Since losing Drew his parents John and Mel have tried to find positivity in all the heartache. The local and wider community raised a substantial amount of money during Drew's fight. They both felt they this needed to be spent on improving the chances of survival for other children with diagnosis. Currently they are in the process of setting up a charitable trust in Drew's name. This charity will focus on raising money to fund paediatric chordoma research and support young children around the world whose live s have ben devastated by this cancer.
As their first event in Drew's memory Mel and John have assembled a team of 60+ runners to take part in the Cardiff half marathon in October. There are all manner of runners taking part. Beginners through to seasoned. They are delighted to have on board Steven Mandel, a chordoma survivor. They hope this will be the first of many events in Drew's memory.
Please support me and our wonderful team of runners as we dedicate our time, sweat and many tears to raise the much needed funds in memory of Mel and Johns gorgeous and special little boy Drew Barker-Wright. xx
