    Story

Hi, I don't know if you are able to help me in any way. I have a red miniature dachshund who is 11 1/2 years old. He has had a lump come up on his beck in the last few months, he has been to the vet and was given antibiotics, painkillers and an ear wash. The vet thought it was to do with his ears and said hopefully the lump will go down, she felt all around my dog and didn't think the lump was anything nasty. I took him back last week because the lump has still not gone down. So I saw a different vet and she suggested a blood sample be taken as she could feel some of his lymph nodes were up. So she took blood from the back leg and out of the lump itself. The vet phoned yesterday with the results which was not good news the lump is cancer. She suggested a ct scan of his chest and head to see if there is any other cancer in him but at £1000+ I can't afford that. Another idea was a general anesthetic to look in his mouth to see if he has a lump there and to take out a lymph node and send it away to be tested. This would cost £500-£800 but I can't afford this either. I work full time and don't receive any benefits. I do not have any pet insurance anymore as the premium went sky high after I had to use it once for a back operation he had a few years ago and I could not afford to pay the monthly amount. I don't know if you could help financially. I can't afford to start using my credit card as I'm still paying for his previous back operation the pet insurance didn't cover it all, I wouldn't be able to get a loan either as I wouldn't be able to pay it back. I live one month to the next and have no savings. I am desperate for any kind of help I love my dog so much and want to give him the best chance possible. Thank you so much for reading my message. Sarah x

Thank you everyone for donating so far. Still way off my target. I have tried phoning round various charities for help but as I'm working they don't want know. I spoke to a lovely lady running a charity called Aid for Animals and they can put £200 towards it. The lump is getting larger. I still need more donations. Please please help if you can xx
