I've raised £800 to provide a centenary memorial bench at Mirfield Cenotaph on behalf of the Mirfield Royal British Legion - through a sky dive!!

As many of you will know this year marks 100 years since the end of WWI. In recognition of this the Mirfield Branch of the Royal British Legion would like to raise funds to place a memorial bench at the Cenotaph in Mirfield so the local community can use this for moments of remembrance and reflection.
To do this, we must raise money separately from our usual efforts.
I have therefore, as secretary of Mirfield branch of the RBL, on Sunday 7 October 2018 (rescheduled date) offered to throw myself out of an aeroplane to try and raise enough money for a bench! As someone who is scared of heights this is a big thing for me. I'm petrified, but I'm so pleased that we can create this permanent memorial to recognise the end of this conflict that affected so many local families.
I really need to be clear, ALL MONEY RAISED WILL GO TOWARDS THE FUNDING OF A MEMORIAL BENCH. Should we be lucky enough to raise more than our target, any remaining funds will go to the Mirfield Branch of the Royal British Legion for our local veterans and their families.
Anything you can spare will be so gratefully received. Thank you so much for your support.
If you would like to know more about the RBL or are interested in coming down to our meetings, please contact me at MirfieldRBL@hotmail.co.uk for more details.
Thank you
Sarah
