Ok my sister is going to kill me for doing this, as she thinks it is begging and there are other people worse off. But I really don’t know what she thinks has to happen for her to be deserving of peoples help.

So 3 weeks before Christmas 2022 my sister (Susan) was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Fast forward to a couple of weeks after Christmas and after multiple scans and tests she was told that it had spread to the glands in her neck, therefore there was nothing they could do for her. She is receiving palliative care and chemo to prolong her life, but for how long no one knows.

But that isn’t all. Just over a week ago she ended up in hospital after suffering a stroke, in fact the doctors have said she has had multiple. They are unsure what caused the strokes but believe it is the chemo she is receiving therefore treatment has been postponed. So what was supposed to be helping her live longer is in-fact making things worse. All the time she has been in hospital her husband John has not left her side, however he is self employed, therefore if he doesn’t work, he doesn’t get paid and obviously susan is off sick from work.

All this has happened just 2 years after we lost my son to leukaemia, we are all in shock that this could happen again to our family and so soon and to someone so young. She is only 44 and has 4 children, the youngest only recently turning 11 and a 3 year old granddaughter. So I am setting up this page to help raise money for her funeral, for one less thing to worry about and to help her and her family to make wonderful memories before the dreaded day comes.
