This family of four are fighting for specialist NHS treatment for their 9 year old. It requires at least six trips to london which costs £210 just in train fare alone. Not including dads time off work.
It is the only option available to us on the nhs and if we cant raise the money to get there we will be taken off the waiting list.
Both mum and dad have worked since early teens but in low income jobs. After a 14 year career dad was made redundant in December, which was a shock and it took a few months to find a new job.
Mum has been off work due to severe bowel disease since febuary and money is obviously really tight. The worry of not being able to attend these appointments and help her baby is adding to her stress which is not helping her illness. She may well need an operation soon to remove some of her bowel so it is all incredibly bad timing and they could really do with some help.
