I've raised £1000 to Build a new Community Centre and Scout hut on the Charles St Recreation Ground in Louth, and see the site restored to it's former glory.

The Charles Street Recreation Ground is virtually on my door step in Louth. It comproses of 3 full size tennis courts, a large fishing pond, community gardens, and a bowling green with a pavilion which is now mothballed and falling into disrepair. Sadly, the site has become a magnet for anti-social behavoir, is undrused and is subject to frequent vandalism. However, Charles Street is still loved and cherished by the community, who are desperate to see it restored. A new scheme, the Louth Scouts Community Centre Project, has been establised which will see Louth 2nd and 4th Scouts take over the running of the site in partnership Home-Start Lincs and the the Louth Croquet Club. It will see a new Scout Headquarters for Louth built on the site of the derelict pavilion, and will be run with partners to provide a community hub for people of all ages and interests. The entire site will be run to benefit the physical and mental well-being of the Louth community.
On July 1st I have committed to run the Lincoln 10k to raise money for the project. I am very new to running, but really happy to make the commitment to a local cause I feel very passionate about. I do hope you can support me with sponsorship, large or small. This project can't happen without the cash!
