    Story

Thank you so much to everyone who donated at Gerard's funeral.

We am trying to raise £10,000 for an Eye Tracking Machine to be used in ICU, Broomfield Hospital. This machine would have been incredible for Gerard.

When someone is completely paralysed and are unable to talk, the Eye Tracking Machine allows them to communicate, thus giving the person some control of what’s happening to them. They are able to ask questions, say what they want or type something specific with the movement of their eyes.

I would like to raise the money in honour of Gerard and ensure the machine is available, when someone else needs it, as the hospital do not currently have this equipment.

Please can everyone share this page, so we can reach out to as many people as possible.

Thank you again to everyone who has donated and to everyone who donated at the funeral. Pennack's have advised me that the total donated was £954, which is amazing. That brings our total to £4,074 so far. Please keep sharing this page so we can reach our target. Sarah xx

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated. We have raised £1,400 so far. The Eye Tracking Machine would not only have been a voice for Gerard, but can help someone else who loses the ability to communicate. It may not be the severity in which Gerard was in, it could be someone who has had a Tracheotomy or damaged their vocal cords. Please continue to share this post so we can raise the funds in honour of Gerard.

I think this is a wonderful gesture. I have nursed stroke patients for over 20 years and know how deeply frustrating being unable to communicate can be for everybody involved.Well done good luck
