Myself and my husband have been selected to represent Great Britain Dragon Boating Team in the European Championships for a second time and I’m looking for business’s to help me fund this amazing opportunity.

A quick bit of background about me and the sport I love, I started the sport 3 years ago with my husband so we could do something sporty together and 9 month after joining the local team I was representing Great Britain in the European Championships in 2016. The squad had a successful championship and returned with 2 Silver & 2 Bronze medals, this time we have been training harder so are pushing to bring back at least 1 gold medal.

Before I started Dragon Boating I was with my health where I would randomly pass out and it took 21 years to be diagnosed with heart condition which lead to having a pacemaker fitted within 36hours of being diagnosed. It turned out that every time I passed out my heart was actually stopping (flat lining) for around 10sec and the doctors were unsure why it was re-starting and if it would continue to restart, so I was given a pacemaker to help prevent this going forward and at the time I was only 31 years old.

My husband has been amazing at supporting and understood that I really wanted to get fit but knew the struggles this would cause to find something we could do together and that wouldn’t make me worse or damage the cables in around my heart. The sport and Pacemaker has given me part of my life back to be a stronger & fitter person.

Now that I’ve made the squad I'm looking for help with funding the cost of travel, accommodation, kit and training subs as the sport is self-funded.
