Ive battled with my mental health for over a year now since leaving an abusive relationship. I later gave birth to a little boy in october 2017 But then in january 2018 my mental health took a massive drop where i saw no other way out other than to attempt to take my own life.

At this point i realised this isnt right i need help and decided st georges park hospital in morpeth would be the best place to get the help i needed. I got a bed on the mother and baby unit meaning i could have my son with me although it meant being seperated from my daughter i knew it was right. I came into hospital where the staff have been fantastic they have supported me so much and turned my life around.

Im now able to look at my baby and see him rather than constantly seeing his father we now have an incredible bond which would never have been possible without the staff.

They believed in me when i couldnt. They have gone above and beyond to ensure that i can get home and live a happy life with both my babies and ensured the right support be put in place.

When social services thought i couldnt safely look after my children they knew i could and stood up to help me win the case meaning i am now working towards discharge home with my beautiful babies!

For this reason i want to give something back to them and help them to help other mums the same way they have me. The money would be used to buy stuff that mums and babies could use to aid theyre recovery and even make theyre stay at beadnell that little bit easier!

For anyone else who might be suffering in silence. Its not to late to ask for help, its ok to talk! There is a light at the end of the tunnel even if you cant see that yet you will Do eventually
