Story

Time lapsed on previous page , thank you to all who have donated so far please keep supporting it means alot. On the 7th dec 2016 my world was turned upside down as I was diagnosed with bowel caner at the age of 34 which required urgent major surgery. On the 15thdec 2016 they removed 30cm of colon and part of my rectum(lower anteria resection).Started chemotherapy in feb 2017 which was every other week 4 hour fusion at hospital and sent home with a 48hour pump which was disconnected on Saturdays by district nurse. I have done 9 out of the 12 cycles and the last one was 1st june 2017 throughout these last 4 months have complained of my stomach been bloated and generally very uncomfortable to which I was told bloating is normal and is a common side affect to the chemo even though I now look 9 months pregnant. Just before the 9th cycle of chemo I saw my surgeon and told him how I felt so uncomfy and had done for months and oncology just said its normal, he requested I have a scan. The Results showed large multiple ovarian cysts.29th june had a pre-opp and bloods taken to prepare for surgery on the 3rd of July.Got a phone call next day telling me my white cells were high and to ring my GP and ask to be seen as it indicated infection and I should be checked over .Waited all day for GP to ring me back for him to say no appointments left today will have to wait till Monday. Saturday 1st july could no longer tolerate the pain and discomfort and rang for an ambulance and was admitted to pinderfields A&E with possible ruptured cyst.Transferred to St James Bexley Wing where test and scans were done. Tuesday 4th July 2017 I was fitted with a drain in my abdomen and 7.75litres of fluid was drained from me and sent away for testing. Thursday 6th July2017 I was taken into surgery for a radical full hysterectomy of which my ovaries, cervix, womb and tubes were taken, there were cancerous cysts on both ovaries the size of water melons. I am now trying to rebuild my strength after surgery having lost all my muscle and not being able to eat properly for weeks .
