Story

I've signed up to complete the Tough Mudder Yorkshire, July 2018; 5 miles, 13 obstacles. Apparently I am going to have the most fun I will ever experience...I'm not so sure. I am expecting the training to be hard and the event to be PURE HELL!

All in the name of Unite to Care.

Unite to Care was founded in October 2013 following the news that 300 dogs were being flown from Sweden to AstraZeneca to be used for research purposes. Since then the campaign has been extended to include every research facility in the UK to set up a retirement programme and to continue campaigning to end animal testing altogether. Since then Unite to Care have successfully re-homed a number of dogs and foals from various testing facilities.

Oggy came to the UK in October 2015 as part of a multi release after spending his first 18 months in a testing facility. Although the laboratories don't believe dogs can be rehabilitated, Oggy and his laboratory siblings are living proof that with time, love and care these animals will and can adjust to normal domestic settings.

Unite to Care are a non profit organisation run by dedicated volunteers. All donations are greatly appreciated and helps the campaign enormously. They place any released animals into forever homes so that they can begin to live happy, healthy, normal lives like Oggy. All donations go towards negotiating and securing releases, raising awareness and covering all associated veterinary costs for new releases.
