Weʼve raised £1,130 to Support the Patel family

    Capel, Dorking, UK
Funded on Saturday, 8th December 2018

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

In the early hours of Thursday, 8th November the Patel family were subjected to a violent armed robbery in the newsagent shop they have run for 35 years. The family have always served their community with love and a smile and for this to happen to them is just appalling. This fundraiser is to show our support for them in their time of need. This type of sickening crime leaves lasting damage but with our help hopefully life can get back to normal sooner rather than later.

Hi everyone. As I'm sure many of you are aware, the family have again been the target of another armed robbery. At around 3am this morning, criminals broke in and were determined to gain entry. They stole cigarettes but more importantly they left the family, and those who came to help, traumatised. I am devastated that this has happened, and I hope everyone is ok. The saving grace is that the ccTV has it all recorded and the footage is with the police. Let's hope the perpetrators are found and brought to justice. Sarah x

Well, we're at the closing day of this fundraiser. What can I say. How wonderful it is that we have all come together in this way to help our friends feel safer and more secure. I will print off all the lovely comments and hand them over to the family so they can read how much we all value them. From me, and I know all the Patel family, thank you so much xx

How amazing, 6 days left and look at that total! There are some extras going in as far as the ccTV system goes, which Makesh requested, so the total cost is higher than previously. This fundraiser has covered the vast majority of it which is wonderful. I'm sure some of you will have seen it taking shape already. It's great to know our lovely friends now have the peace of mind and security they need. Thank you so much everyone! Sarah x
