I've raised £400 to for my good friend, Dave Makin. He is 31 and has very recently had an above knee amputation due to a condition called CRPS

I am running my first half marathon for my good friend of well over 20 years, Dave Makin. He is 31 and has very recently had an above knee right leg amputation. This is due to a chronic pain condiiton called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). CRPS is a very rare condition that usually develops after an injury to an arm or leg, with the primary symptom being severe, prolonged pain in the affected area. When it persists beyond 6-8 months it usually develops into a lifelong chronic debilitating condition, with the only prescribed treatment being high-strength pain killers - in Dave’s case this was 54 pills every day. Dave saw an amputation as the only way forward. Dave is now looking to raise funds for his ongoing recovery, for his prosthetic leg and ongoing therapy. Dave’s friends and family are aiming to raise money to help him through this terrible time. Although Dave faces a very tough road ahead he is determined that he will once again do the things that dads do with his two young children, and eventually walk down the aisle with his bride to be, Katie. If you’re able to help us help Dave we please donate here. Thank you. You can read more here - https://www.facebook.com/fundraising4dave/
